Business Delegation to Spain: A Week of Deep Exploration and Celebration
05 June 2025On May 26, 2025, a delegation comprising distributors, partners, and designers from across China, led by Ms. Elena Xu, General Manager of PORCELANOSA (Shanghai) Trading Co., Ltd., and Mr. Li Runjie from the Distribution Department, embarked on a week-long in-depth business trip to Villarreal, Spain.
The first day focused on PORCELANOSA’s brand-new 2025 showroom, where Héctor Colonques García-Planas personally welcomed the delegation. The showroom embodied the brand’s understated luxury while innovatively integrating tile and slab technologies, elevating home aesthetics to new heights. The team then visited the Xtone slab showroom, witnessing the artistic application of large-format slabs in architecture and daily living.
A key highlight of the trip was the tour of PORCELANOSA’s core production facilities. As Europe’s only slab manufacturer equipped with SACMI roller presses, SYSTEM punching machines, and BRETON polishing systems, its fully automated production lines left the delegation in awe. The intelligent logistics center, with its 160-meter depth, 30-meter-high automated storage, and unmanned transport systems, perfectly demonstrated high-efficiency production.
Another major event was the delegation’s attendance at the 16th Porcelanosa Awards Ceremony held at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, honoring Alejandro Aravena.
Alejandro Aravena, the 2016 Pritzker Prize laureate and renowned architect, received an honorary award in recognition of his career achievements and global contributions to social and sustainable architecture. The grand ceremony, attended by nearly 300 guests at the Bernabéu, showcased the latest collaboration between Real Madrid and the PORCELANOSA Group.
The awards unveiled carefully selected domestic and international projects, celebrating outstanding proposals in sustainability, residential design, retail, and commercial spaces. For the 16th consecutive year, the Porcelanosa Group hosted its awards for architecture, interior design, and real estate development, this time at the legendary Bernabéu. Following its partnership with Real Madrid last October, the Group chose this iconic venue to celebrate the exceptional work of architects and designers worldwide.
Guests enjoyed an elegant cocktail reception in the stadium’s exclusive VIP area, which extensively features Porcelanosa materials. Attendees were also honored to take photos with the UEFA Champions League trophy. The evening continued with a gala dinner in a VIP box, hosted by Emilio Butragueño, the club’s Director of Institutional Relations, who delivered the welcome speech.
